An art passed down through generations

In 1938 Dr. Rodolpho Emilio Albrecht, a descendant of Germans and founder of the historic "Pharmácia Allemã" (Laboratorium Der Deutschen Apotheke) in the city of Porto Alegre, began to import concentrated essences from Germany, the Netherlands and the United States with the aim of meet the growing needs of the local food industry.

With the onset of World War II and its serious consequences for international trade, Dr. Rodolpho, using his knowledge in the pharmaceutical field, began researching and developing his own aromas using, whenever possible, local raw materials, avoiding such dependence on imported essences.

In 1963, three of Dr. Rodolpho's five children (Frederico, Arthur and Rodolpho Filho) decided to dedicate themselves exclusively to the manufacture of aromas, founding the company "Irmãos Albrecht", pioneer in the manufacture of food flavorings in Rio Grande do Sul and certainly among the first in Brazil.

In 2004 the company went through a modernization process, changing its corporate name to "Aromas Albrecht" and transferring its unit to new facilities in the city of Montenegro.
